Thermoforming Machine Operator
Position Summary
Responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating thermoforming machines to efficiently produce high-quality parts. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and retain the fundamentals of the thermoforming process.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and configure thermoforming machines, including mounting, installing, aligning, and securing tools, attachments, fixtures, and cutting dies using hand tools and precision instruments.
- Perform machine changeovers by removing and replacing tooling for new production jobs.
- Adjust machine speed, controls, tooling, and cutting dies to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, including correcting faults in automatic programming or machine malfunctions.
- Monitor machine operation by listening for irregular sounds (e.g., dull tools, excessive vibration) and making necessary adjustments.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Make real-time machine adjustments to correct quality deviations.
- Safely lift and position heavy production tools and dies using manual methods or hoists/cranes.
- Accurately complete daily production logs in a clear and legible manner.
- Apply sound judgment and follow established policies and procedures to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Proactively evaluate upcoming jobs to ensure tooling is prepared and ready for installation.
- Ensure all machines receive preventive maintenance at required intervals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around all equipment.
- Train team members on proper equipment use, safety procedures, and basic maintenance as needed.

- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn and retain thermoforming processes
- Experience with manufacturing equipment and tools preferred
- Ability to read and use precision measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a physically demanding environment

Monday-Friday 5 am to 3:30 pm
